A typical PEB structure primarily consists of “I” shaped columns and roof beam frames along with secondary steel members, known as purlins and girts, that are placed perpendicular and on top (purlins) or perpendicular and on the side (girts). The purlins act as a connection between the roofing system and the steel frames, whereas the girts support a wall cladding system. These structural elements are typically standardized in order to optimize and minimize costs.
